Everyone keep your eye on Gelistico. I mentioned this after the Showtime match and I saw more of it last night against Rachel in the opener - He's coming with with some partciularly bada__ offensive moves lately.
I can see a real progression in his style, from him being announced as the first Lone Star participant up to now.

Seems like palmer is going to have an uphill battle to start, seems as though the man wants to keep him from winning, but either way this will be the must see of the first round

I'll be backing Gary Jay, Davey Vega, Mat Fitchett, & Jimmy Jacobs in Round 1.
I've slowly become a Showtime fan & I have been booing Evans since the ACH feud, but I want Robert Evans to be the man to take the belt off Showtime.

I've decided who I want to cheer for to win this year's tournament.
Being that I always like to go against the grain and pick longshots, I'm not just going against conventional thinking or what other folks want, but I'm going against the grain of what I usually cheer for as well.
I've decided that I'd like to see a female winner this year, and It's not Athena.
I'm cheering for Rachel.

This year's tournament really is a tough one to pick a winner. I'll be cheering for Vega, Evan, Delirious, Palmer, Gary Jay, Athena, Rachel, Jacobs, Pierre, Matt Fitchett, Slim, Aesome Andy. Cheer them all and i am bound to be cheering for the winner.
Me smart! ;D

r k Over to Rachel now huh...Hmmmm Still not my favorite, but she's a hard worker and deserves the support. At the Lone Star this year I'm giving it to her.
Plus, she's been pretty cool on Formspring.
All support goes out the window of course, once Lady Poison enters the arena. Except maybe for Jen. ;D
...O.K., Jen too.

Although I'd like to pick Jacobs, nobody should underestimate Awesome Andy. He's my pick to win it.

I don't know how it will happen, but I believe one way or another either her or Vega will screw it up, and my pick Rachel gets through.
After that the biggest threat is Awesome Andy. He's the only guy in the tournament who I see having devastating, single-minded intensity with no quirks or weaknesses that Rachel could get around.
So I'm backing Rachel, but I see Awesome Andy as the most dangerous threat in the tournament.

Will the titles be on the line in the 4-way? no, you have to be beaten to lose a title & since it isn't elimination we aren't going to leave title changes up to chance.

Rachel brought up a good point on formspring, that her biggest obstacle could be focusing on the tournament, as opposed to revenge on Athena.
You can't win this kind of thing without focus and without focus you don't really deserve to win. In the opening round I perceive the following four to be the most focused:
Gelistico. Andy. Jacobs. Vega.
I've put my support behind Rachel and I still intend to go through with that, but I hope she takes her own words to heart as those four are extremely formidable and downright dangerous if your mind's not right.

Gelistico answered on Formspring that he hasn't been studying any particular wrestler to develop the recent intensity of his current wrestling style. That may be true, but his wrestling has recently been reminiscent to me of someone and I haven't been able to put my finger on it until now.
Kurt Angle. I'm seeing a lot of Kurt Angle in what Evan's been doing lately.
