See what you think of this:
ACW VERSUS MEMPHIS (All wrestlers in their prime):
Pre-show:
DJ King vs Reggie B. Fine
Rachel & Jessica vs Austin Idol & Miss Texas vs The Lost Boys vs Darin Childs & Khris Wolfe (Rachel & Jessica complain about two COP teams, so Idol decides to be a "gentleman" and team with "the ladies" to turn it into an eight-person tag, instead of a four-way)
REGULAR SHOW:
Rachel vs Austin Idol (Idol was lazy and arrogant during the tag match causing a loss, which led to this challenge and becomes a hard fought match).
Smurf Nation & Flippy S__t vs PG-13, Jay & Vega, & Athena
Spiro vs Exotic Adrian Street
Shawn Vexx vs Brickhouse Brown
Jos Leduc vs Jaykus Plisken (In an extremely rough match and with full audience support, Leduc beats the HELL out of Plisken...but Plisken has friends, who might help him win...Will Showtime come help Jos after an inevitable post-match beatdown?)
The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn & Stan Lane) vs The Submission Squad (Evan & Pierre)
INTERMISSION
Masada vs Bill Dundee
Jerry Lawler (with Jimmy Hart at ringside) vs Robert Evans (with Super Electro at ringside)
(Andy Kaufman comes out and makes disparaging remarks about "Texas rasslin'" and how he's an intergender champion in "Hollywood", which leads to...)
Lady Poison vs Andy Kaufman
Showtime Scot Summers vs Brian Christopher.
Lance Russell joins Biss for DVD commentary.

Not familiar with some of the ACW guys on the roster these days, but from my ACW heyday:
Rexx Reed vs. Vader
Dynamite Kid vs. JT Lamotta
Darrin vs. Johnny Grunge - holy fuck do they look alike
Jaykuss/Showtime vs Road Warriors
The Smurf Nation in a handicap match against Big Show
Ladder vs Taker
And someone said Ron Simmons was the most under rated wrestler ever...ummm...how? So he was the first black champ, ever? That right there makes him terribly over rated as Ernie Ladd, JYD, Bad News Allen, and Thunderbolt Patterson were all better wrestlers and more over in their respective careers but race played against them. Bill Watts was trying anything to strike gold in WCW, Simmons was nothing more than a mid card tag worker in between teams when he had the ONLY good singles match of his career and that was because Vader carried and bumped the fuck out for him. You got to defend that. He was a decent worker at best, was never really over as a singles worker as his world title reign was a flop and his most successful stint came as a well booked bad ass tag team during the most profitable time in wrestling.

He was a decent worker at best, was never really over as a singles worker as his world title reign was a flop and his most successful stint came as a well booked bad ass tag team during the most profitable time in wrestling. That was me about Ron Simmons...
I watched the guy from his rookie year in Florida onward, and have always been a fan of his. I say he's one of the most overlooked great guys in the business. A lot of that has to do with what I saw of him in ECW. He showed he was capable of GREAT interviews there; some of my favorite of all time, and I have almost thirrty-five years as a fan. His tag team with Too Cold Scorpio (not Butch Reed) was also great. Further, he was the leader of one of the strongest wrestling factions of the 90's, the Nation Of Domination, which was WAY ahead of its time.
As a world champion? When he was world champ him and Rick Rude were what got me to watch during that time - I liked him as champ more than Vader. I'm not saying Vader wasn't good too, just personal preference.
When I say he was underrated/overlooked, that's what I'm talking about - Not necessarily saying he was the best ever, but that through the years I've seen him show way more potential than he was ever really given the chance to build on. And no, I'm not saying that race had anything to do with it, just that he wasn't the "type" that any company would get fully behind as much as I'd have liked.
My defense is that as a fan he's given me many good memories over the years, and I would've liked to see more from him, on a higher level.
I suppose you could say there was also a pride factor involved, as being from Florida, he was one of "ours". I saw one of the first ECW shows in Florida, and the main event was Simmons vs Shane for the belt. You should've heard the crowd pop. Even with all the ECW craziness, for the first time in the state, even with a surprise run-in from Tully Blanchard, the biggest response of the night was for Ron. Second biggest was probably Sandman, and a big part of that was for Woman being with him (she was also one of "ours" - RIP).
For what it's worth, I never really got the Von Erichs.

Speaking of the Nation of Domination, I saw them once in a large arena, the West Palm Beach Auditorium, where they came out in full force.
The response they got was like nothing I've ever seen in one of the "big companies".
I've always believed that's why it was ended early.

r kThat's more than fair enough. Nobody is ever wrong for backing up their opinion. You know how the internet is, so many people like to say something, never back it up and get anal when something is challenged. And don't worry, I don't get butt hurt about Von Erich hate. The best things that ever came out of Texas were Hansen, Austin, Taker and the greatest American to ever do it, HBK.

All this talk of Ron Simmons and Florida got me to thinking of this:
ACW VERSUS FLORIDA (I'm booking this card in a traditional "CWF" style). Check it out:
BUNKHOUSE RULES! MATCH NOT SANCTIONED BY THE NWA: Dusty Rhodes vs Jimmy Jacobs
NWA TITLE IS ON THE LINE: Ric Flair (champion) vs Berry Breeze (challenger) - One of the coolest things about Florida booking was that they would often put the world champ against a lower card guy and those always turned out to be awesome matches. Berry fits the mold of the guy they'd put in that spot.
FLORIDA TITLE VS ACW TITLE: Barry Windham (Fla champion) vs "Mr. Showtime" Scot Summers (ACW champion) - (Showtime is the HEEL in this!)
SPECIAL ATTRACTION: Kevin Sullivan & The Purple Haze (heels) vs Spiro & Jaykus Plisken
Misty Blue vs Rachel Summerlyn (LADIES!!!)
AUSTRALIAN RULES TAG TEAM MATCH ;D - Mike Graham & Scott McGhee vs The Submission Squad (Evan Gelistico & Pierre Abernathy)
Slim Sexy vs Bad. Bad Leroy Brown
Special Challenge: Jr. Garza vs The Hatian Sensation Tyree Pride (Pride's Bahamas Championship WILL BE ON THE LINE)
And being that this will be a special event at the Bayfront Center in St Petersburg, Gordon Solie will be joined at the broadcast table by his friend, Big Biss.
The doors will open a half hour early, with autograph tables featuring some of your favorite wrestling stars - COME EARLY!!! Barry Windham will pose for pictures with the Fla belt!
The Intermission will feature photo opportunities with the following stars: Lady Poison, Luna Vachon, Rachel Summerlyn, Misty Blue, Slim Sexy, and Jaykus Plisken. Be advised: Intermission WILL BE EXTENDED to allow opportunitties for as many fans as possible. We apologize for any incovenience, and hope you will enjoy meeting these great stars!
Video taping crew will be in attendance!
A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Florida Sheriff's Boys Ranch, as well as Hearts And Headlocks of San Antonio, Texas.
Be sure to tune in every week for all the action of CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FROM FLORIDA (Check local listings for time and channel). And don't forget to head on over to AnarchyChampionshipWrestling.com for information about all the great ACW stars!

Florida usually had enough great talent to also have a "B" show the same night. ACW certainly has lots of talent too, so here is...
ACW VERSUS FLORIDA - "B" SHOW (Jacksonville)
TEXAS TORNADO MATCH: Blackjack Mulligan & Masada vs Jake Roberts & JT La Motta
SOUTHERN TITLE MATCH - "Outlaw" Ron Bass (Champion) vs "The Excellence of Execution" Robert Evans
ACW TAG TITLE MATCH - The Smurf Nation (JC Bravo & Chingo, Champions) vs The Assassins
SCIENTIFIC SHOWCASE - Jerry Lynn vs Bob Roop
NONTITLE MATCH - ACH (ACW U-30 champion) vs Steve Keirn
MIXED TAG - Brian Blair & Malia Hosaka vs Davey Vega & Athena
Gary Jay vs "Downtown" Denny Brown
Amanda Fox vs Wenona Littleheart
