Full card has been announced. a few minor changes were made, a match was added and hopefully nothing else changes. we will see. regardless this is ACW's 50th show. and with that said, it will be a party. a party complete with...an after party...filled with Live music and reasonably priced drinks...and fun...The after party is included with your paid admission. rock n roll.

about that no more changes thing...
And now the bad news…anyone who knows me, knows there are very few times that “real life” comes before the business of Professional wrestling. This is one of those times. I was faced with a decision to either A) purchase the plane ticket for Jimmy Jacobs or B) buy hundreds of dollars worth of prescriptions for my wife (Rachel Summerlyn) following her emergency surgery. I chose the latter and it was the right decision. Jimmy Jacobs’ Austin debut appearance is going to be rescheduled (he is basically a full time roster member, so he’ll obviously be back fairly often) for a later date. Thank you all for your understanding during these not-so-fun times in the ACW family. As I always ask…Trust in ACW and we won’t let you down. April 26th will not be a show to miss, I promise you that. The ACW roster always steps it up when our backs are against the wall. the adjusted card has been posted.
Ok, all the bad is over, let’s start preparing for a f*cking party. ACW is back in Austin, at a place that serves alcohol and we have some huge first time match-ups signed. On April 26th you will see the best Athletes in the world, the most talented & beautiful women, the most death-defying luchadors and the most violent matches ACW can produce. Thank you ACW fans, you have made these not-so-fun times tolerable. We love you.

I was studying the card yesterday. In Eight matches, this may be the most complete card in memory. It's not 8 main events, but 8 matches that build a show from top to bottom with a little something for everyone and no filler. The 3 singles matches all offer different mixes of styles. There are title matches, multi-men matches, Women's Action, Hardcore. No matter what your tastes are, you should find it on this show. It's a perfect example of what ACW tries to do every time out.
It wouldn't be an ACW show if I didn't start getting excited about a week before the actual event!

The results are already posted to the History/Results section of this message board and of course on www.saindywrestlingscene.comThe count was hard to say. Definitely Standing Room Only. We actually had people sitting on the roofs of the adjacent buildings and some of the turned away crowd hanging out in the alley watching through the gap in the chain link fence. Let's say 200 plus paid. It'll look great on the dvd I really hope someone got a shot of the people on the roofs watching.

It was a legitimate sellout, turn-away crow. A magical night. I would say that ACW's 50th show was a rebirth of the company and a HUUUGGEE success. The June 7th Event will actually be moved to Mohawk on Red River & 10th street because it can fit about 5x as many people, has a covering to protect from weather on horrible days, yet is still as open and free as Emo's during the beautiful days and it has that same gritty feel you've come to love from ACW. Austin, Thank you very much for welcoming ACW with open arms.

The Mohawk will be cool as it is a much bigger spot and there should be some opportunity for movement into the crowd and such. Hopefully we'll see a good old fashioned death match on the card... I know it probably won't happen, but I had to say it...

what would be considered a deathmatch? the one thing I will say, is that due to the environmental acts in Austin it would be extremely unwise to use lighttubes due to the mercury content. other than tubes the competitors aren't restricted from doing anything to each other with anything they choose to use. truth be told, the form of Deathmatch wrestling that rose to the forefront in the late 90's until recently is pretty close to being a forgotten art form. reason being in my opinion is that everything got too crazy too fast and one light tube a match turned into 200 a match then into 200 tubes & barbwire & cactus & fishhooks...where else can you go? thus meaning people get bored...and spend less money...which means less pay for the boys...which means less boys willing to die....which means shallower talent pool...which means either less deathmatches or a bunch of mediocre deathmatches. I believe the genre is simply evolving and I think the beginning stages can be seen in ACW as the new generation of hardcore guys are smaller, quicker, more athletic and it is more of a flashy style with weapons as opposed to the in your face violence for the sake of violence style. Deathmatches take a huge toll on people bodies; it has grown to be too dangerous and that is why you see guys like Corp, Necro, Toby Klein and many others distancing themselves. It is hard and we all only have so much to give; we will give all we have, but it isn't infinite. with that said, May 17th will see the return of No-Rope Barbwire and I'd assume there will be a fair amount of wild, crazy, bloody brawls and an assortment of the most innovative "gimmick" matches we can come up with. Thank you for supporting ACW.

what would be considered a deathmatch? The sick insane matches that were going on in ACW in 2007. Examples: Necro v. Masada(Sunday Bloody Sunday), Four way hardcore tag(Sunday Bloody Sunday), Darin Childs vs. Jacob Ladder NRBW FBTW(Blood, Sex & Violence), Darin Childs vs. Jacob Ladder NRBW FBTW(Respect)... Then, in 2008 the only deathmatch that really stands out is Masada vs. Showtime House of Horrors (Dismember The Alamo)... And, none thus far for 2009. It just frustrates me a bit, as I was very excited and surprised that a wrestling company in Texas was doing some of the best deathmatches in the US; and now nearly all focus seems to have been taken away from them. what would be considered a deathmatch? the one thing I will say, is that due to the environmental acts in Austin it would be extremely unwise to use lighttubes due to the mercury content. [/quote] Hmm, I know a certain four letter word down in South Austin has used them before. I really don't think there would be an issue, has there ever been any precedence of spooky gas being a problem for environmental officials anywhere? truth be told, the form of Deathmatch wrestling that rose to the forefront in the late 90's until recently is pretty close to being a forgotten art form. Hmm, I thought that KOTDM this year was one of the top 3 ever, maybe the best. COD last year had over 1000 attendees. I'd say it is still great and people still want to see it. May 17th will see the return of No-Rope Barbwire and I'd assume there will be a fair amount of wild, crazy, bloody brawls and an assortment of the most innovative "gimmick" matches we can come up with. Thank you for supporting ACW. I really hope I can make it out. Shows at the Venue are always alot of fun.

I honestly thought we've been doing deathmatches on a pretty regular basis.
- Fans with Staple Guns lumberjack match
- German Blood Match
- all the crazy shit lucid was doing including the most blood loss ever in ACW in May of 2008
- Ladder bleeding more than any human should
- Ladder vs. Lucid on Dec 13th
- Ladder vs. Bravo on Dec 14th
- Shawn Vexx vs. Rexx Reed
- Rachel vs. Daffney in their sick as brawl
- Even Delirious vs. Masada vs. Lamotta was very hardcore in its own right.
and to be honest there aren't any local wrestlers worth using that are really willing to do the kind of plunder that is done in CZW & IWA-MS. I really do think the fight Lamotta/Delirious/Masada delivered on March 22nd was as violent and entertaining as anything we've ever done in the Venue. but that's just my opinion.
