These two men ARE ACW. they have been #1 & #2 in the region since 2001. no one is better than Mike Dell & Scot Summers. I saw what you put on twitter about ECW.
Ron Simmons is one of the most criminally overlooked guys ever in pro wrestling. I've been a fan since he was a rookie.
And you're right, in ECW he was amazing.

Darin - Did you see the ECW promo where Ron Simmons and Too Cold are talking about an upcoming match involving Shane Douglas who had Sherri Martel as a valet? Where Ron Simmons called out Sherri Martel?
Best promo ever. No kidding, best promo ever.

There was another great one where Shane Douglas said he used to hang out in the projects, so that made him as tough as Ron Simmons.
Ron Simmons then did a promo, saying: "It ain't even called 'the projects', it's called THE JACKS!"
Ron Simmons was big time badass, dude.
"DAMN!" That brings back memories.

Having worked for ACW for quite some time, I am always impressed with the matches that get booked, and the stipulations that go along with them, but I never, never could have predicted the Dell / Summers' match stip that one of them will have to leave ACW. While this will be a phenomenal match-up, I am not excited about the prospect of either of these two having to leave once this match is in the books. Regardless of what the fans think of either of them, they are both incredibly talented, and the prospect of either of them leaving will be a huge loss to the promotion.

Is it just me or do we ACW fans get treated to Wrestlemania worthy shows every single month or what? This show is going to be fantastic and is the latest in a VERY LONG run of great shows. Every month's show seems to be the best and the next one tops it somehow. It's not just a show but a spectacle that shouldn't be missed. The DVDs are awesome but truly being there live and in the middle of the great atmosphere is what makes ACW great.

The DVDs are awesome but truly being there live and in the middle of the great atmosphere is what makes ACW great. Every show is unique as well. One of the unique things I like a lot is how outside, national stars come in and don't just wrestle easy, formula matches.
When you think of something like Dell vs London or Masada vs Chris Hero, the big Joshi matches - Those matches are top of the line and could stand among the best matches anywhere or any time.
And I get the feeling it's not because those folks are getting big bucks for it, but because of a sincere passion for what they're doing, which feeds off the appreciation of the crowd. Those same wrestlers could get paid more elsewhere for doing much less, I'm sure.
That's wrestling gold, right there. We're very fortunate to be witnessing the things we're getting.

Looks like I'll get to come to this show after all!
May be a little late. Hope I'm there in time to cheer on the Smurfs though.

Who will you cheer for? My picks:
Berry Breeze over Jay.
8-man tag - Tough one. I can't cheer for Darin and I'm pissed at Wolfe for joining Darin, but I like the Lost Boys. I don't want to cheer for ACH, but I like the Flippies. So it's a toss-up. I'll be hoping Masters or Fitchet get the win.
Garza vs La Motta - Man, I LOVE this booking! La Motta is the guy it's so cool to boo on, and Garza's the guy no one (except me) wants to cheer for. I'm gonna love cheering for Garza in this match.
Takeover vs Palmer/Plisken - Takeover, without any hesitation. Does everyone notice how Electro takes on the personality of whoever he's standing with? Whether it's Evans, Portia, or Spiro, he's different each time; that's pretty cool. I'm becoming a big fan of Electro (except the "Portia" part; that Queen OF Queens still isn't cool with me).
Team Sex over Slim Willie.
Smurfs over Squad.
Masada over Vega. I know he's considered "hip", but I think Davey Vega is the ACW wrestler I dislike the most; not on that bandwagon. Can't wait to see Masada tear him up.
Poison, of course.
Evans vs Delirious. This is a little bit of a toss-up, because although I've never seen him live I like what I've seen of Delirious on you tube. Want to cheer Evans out of Takeover loyalty, but still don't feel right cheering for him after Queen Of Queens. But then again, Portia isn't here...I'll probably end up with Evans, out of loyalty.
Dell vs Showtime - Can't pick one to cheer for. Just going to enjoy a historic match, and feel bad about seeing one of them go.

I'm predicting a new Televised champion will be crowned.
C.O.P. will reign supreme. (Gotta see more 1 on 1 Fitchett matches, he's so much more than the flips and that's all that you remember in the 8-man matches)
Lamotta and Garza will be awesome, not sure who's gonna win but I don't think Garza will win clean if he comes out on top.
I see The Takeover either completely imploding with a loss or being re-invented with a victory.
Team S.E.X. all the way... They are the fastest rising thing in ACW right now. They are a very solid tag team.
6-Joshi Scramble - POISON!!! Unless they gang up on here Royal Rumble style.
Submission Match - The SmurfNation vs. The Submission Squad Common Sense would say the Squad is at an advantage. However, every match the Squad wrestles is a "submission match". The SmurfNation have fought them countless times and learned to defend against the Squads various submission holds. The SS have no clue what to expect from the Smurfs as far as submission holds go. In the end it's still a toss up but I predict and hope to see new ACW Tag Team Champions Aug. 8th.
Davey Vega vs. MASADA - Almost like a drug-induced dream match. Vega is one of my favorites of the guys I've discovered since learning of ACW a year ago, but I've been a MASADA mark since the Carnage Crew days. Although obviously out-matched, Vega still stands a chance. It's gonna take someone Hard F'n Core to knock MASADA of his throne as Hardcore King of ACW and I just don't think that's Davey Vega.
Robert Evans vs. Delirious - Robert Evans is the best worker in ACW, hands down. Delirious has Charisma that is unmatched. This is gonna be something wonderful to watch live. I'd love to see Delirious win the U-30 title so he would have to return to ACW. I will be BAH-ing and BOO-ing(Evans). I predict Evans will retain.
Showtime vs. One Man - 2 of the biggest names in the ACW history books. It is really hard to cheer for or against either man in a match like this. Both men are so important to ACW, the fans lose either way. The chant at the last show will be very appropriate for this epic match-up- Two Men Enter; One Man Leaves.

Here's what I want: Brent Masters vs Khris Wolfe, in a one-on-one feud. This is the one that could bring both guys up a notch, and I'm thinking especially Masters.
Wolfe made the move he had to make joining Darin and COP, but to me it's a sell-out; I don't support it. Therefore, my underdog support has now shifted to Masters, rather than Wolfe.
Very good comments, by the way. I still have concerns over the submission rules tag title match, as I think experience is going to be a major factor which puts the advantage very heavily on the side of the Squad. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much submission mastery yet from the smurfs.
I'll still be supporting the smurfs all the way, though.

I'm not sure Masters or Wolfe are quite ready for a one on one feud. (My opinion)
I think Fitchett is ready to step up and be a force in ACW though, and could have incredible matches with guys like Lamotta, Vega, ACH, Showtime etc. Plus just imagine how great Fitchett vs. Claudio Castagnoli would be. Masters or Wolfe vs. Evans would not be able to touch Fitchett/Evans from Q of Qs.

r k why? What's Palmer done that I missed? I saw the last show. It looked like it took both Spiro and SuperElectro to beat on Palmer for 15 minutes while Plisken lost to a roll up.

Lillie Mae, Court Caution & James Claxton are no longer with ACW, so there was one small change to Sunday's card. Lillie Mae has been replaced by Houston area wrestler Jen Alise in the 6-Joshi Scramble.

Much as it pains me to do so I think I'm going to lean more toward Mike Dell in the big match this week.
Nothing against Showtime, and I hate to see either guy go, but I'm leaning toward Dell. Dell and the Takeover were a big part of what first drew me as an ACW fan.
That deserves something.
