The more it sinks in the more I have to agree with another fan who said the finish to Palmer/Evans was the greatest wrestling match finish ever.
My God, that was creative. It was to wrestling what someone like Tarantino is to movies.
This whole show was everything you want ACW to be. Everyone MUST get this DVD.
Better make extra copies of it, Darin. This one's huge.

They should have started playing "Stuck in the Middle With You" when Palmer went out for the gasoline.
I quit matches usually have underwhelming finishes, this one was OVERwhelming.

Looking back at my footage, the crowd was insane during the Rachel/Athena match. For me, these women are erasing all the horrible things tv has taught me about womens wrestling. When our Joshis are in the ring, their TnA (pun intended) isn't the focal point.

Not only that, but our Joshi matches seem to have just a slight extra element to them, in terms of the passion from the crowd, even over the other ACW matches.
Yes, I admit a bias here, but as wild as Athena/Rachel was Portia/Poison seemed like just a different level all the way around to me. That match was SILLY intense.
I recall watching my friends across the ring and I think Rachel/Athena was the first match that really got them to the "holy sh_t" level.
It seems a consensus with my friends who came to their first show that their favorites were Athena, Portia, and ACH - With Athena and ACH being the clear favorites overall.

r kThe Poison match had way more intensity, no doubt. I will say this though, I've never cared as much about a wrestling show as I did at this one. Summers/Lamotta, Rachel/Athena, Poison/Portia, and Palmer/Evans were 4 of the most emotional matches I've seen.

ACW wrestling is something special. And the FanArchist Nation is the coolest clique in the world because...
WE'RE THERE!!!

r kI thought Rock/Mankind had basically killed the match with the finish they had in 98 or 99, but this was like a re-incarnation of the I Quit match.

I've been going around to verious people at work and telling them about the finish to Palmer/Evans.
The response seems to always be the same: "I've gotta go sometime".

So does everyone think Palmer was really willing to go through with it? I felt afterwards that he probably would have just kept reaching into his bag of tools and raising the threat level instead of ending Evans once and for all. I guess we'll never know, but neither will Evans. Sucks for him, giving in to fear and losing his 'crown."

I live in China now and it's a shame that I missed this show. The last three GBA's were so amazing .. and this one sounds like the best !
