This is fucking tough. Benoit is one of those that hits way to close to home. when a legend dies it is hard to swallow, but it seems like more and more are passing that I've shared locker rooms with.

I cant believe it. He was such a great wrestler. Even after a while of not watching, I always knew what was up with Benoit. Now he's gone. And it hurts a little, right there. *pointing*

This is beyond shocking... not just a truly great wrestler, a truly great manager, but their family are all gone. It is...i dont even know what to say. When Eddie died, he was supposed to win the title, now Chris dies when he was supposed to win the title. just very strange and emotional and tragic. We love you Chris and Nancy...all of you will be missed.

Word out of Corpus is that the Raw event is cancelled. Not sure what this means for the SA show on Tuesday.

To be a wrestling fan is often painful. We have to explain our interest to people who just don’t get it. We have to put up with all the ridiculous, even insulting things being put on television. Worse of all, we must face the losses of those whom we have elevated to hero status.
Sadly, the nature of wrestling is brutally cutthroat. Many fans have no problem finding replacements for their fallen idols. Even those for whom “there will never be another” eventually fade into the haze of nostalgia. For me, Bruiser Brody was the first such loss. I thought I would never get over my anger and pain.
Today, I got the phone call concerning Chris Benoit and his family and I honestly don’t know how to deal with the feelings that are overwhelming me. This time however there is a difference. Years ago, when Brody was murdered, I felt alone in my pain. Today I can see dozens of others who are sharing my shock and grief. While knowing that there are others, people with whom I have developed relationships, who are grieving doesn’t exactly make me feel better, I at least have a handle to grasp, to help hold me up when I feel like falling.
My suggestion for those who are grasping for straws at this time, is this; remember what Benoit meant to the business. Remember that talent and perseverance can eventually be recognized. Remember that it is possible to succeed while being true to yourself without fitting someone else’s ideals. And most of all, remember the greatness that Chris brought to every match in which he took part.
And while you’re at it, remember some of the others whose dedication to the sport made you a fan, even now, long after they were snatched away. Chris and Nancy Benoit will live a long time and even though my eyes are filled with tears, I can smile as I remember the moments of joy they brought to me.

The more info seems to be coming out, the more my stomache turns. I hope the information is not true, but it looks unlikely....damn....

When I read yesterday about the death of Chris Benoit and his family I was really shocked and sad. While I watched the RAW tribute and heard the WWE locker talk about Benoit and his son I was really touched. Now today the news comes out that he strangled his wife and smothered his son and then took the cowardly way out and hung himself. Now I dont care who it is but any person that can smother his own 7 yeard old son to death is a piece of shit. I was a huge fan of Chris Benoit for as long as I can remeber but today that went out the window. I should have waited to post the bulletins I posted on myspace last night, the WWE should have waited to have a tribute to a double murderer till all the news came out. Chris Benoit you may have escaped the hand of the people by taking your own life, but you will not escape the wrath of GOD 777

I agree man. I started this thread as soon as I heard. I know the WWE didn't have all the information when they started, so they thought they were doing the right thing. We all feel that way I think. It's just damn sick.... God bless his wife and son.

I heard that they found out at RAW a few hours before showtime what really happened, and decided to go ahead with it anyway bc they wouldnt be able to go in and change everything on such short notice. I would at least liked to have know sooner.
