I'm curious. We all know and appreciate the greatness that is ACW, but with the growing number of wrestlers on the ACW roster and members of this board, I want to hear some opinions.
Aside from ACW, what other promotions or shows have you worked or seen that were top rate? What made them great? If you're a worker, was it something in the locker-room that makes the show a good one for you, or the crowd or the in-ring action. For fans, what makes the show great to watch?
No need to limit this to Texas, but I think we all pretty much know what is going on in San Antonio.
Let's try to keep this thread focused on the positive aspects. We don't want anyone burning bridges.
I'll get the ball rolling. I have never been disappointed with an XCW (Denton) show. The top of their talent roster is as good as anything anywhere. The production values are very high as one would expect from a company doing a weekly tv show and monthly ppv's. Plus, for their marquee shows (such as Battle Box) they really step things up.

XCW is pretty good. Some of the fans there are dicks but I have found a small group that are just into good wrestling.
NLPW was pretty cool for the time, no one else was bringing in more then one big name at a time.
The NWA-Pro show was pretty cool

As far as Texas promotions, I have not attended much out side of San Antonio. The exception being NLPW, which was impressive.
Outside of the state, I have attended 5 ROH shows live and 4 IWA-MS shows, which were all excellant.
What made these shows great in my opinion, is seeing great in ring work rate with true professionals who treat pro wrestling as a sport and not just a hobby. In addition, the crowds, in particular the ROH crowds, seem to have a shared passion for the sport of professional wrestling. This combined makes for a great expierence. I will say, I think the ACW crowds, while not nearly as large as the ROH crowds, have really evolved in showing great respect for the wrestlers and the action in the ring.
