For over 30 shows now, I have been doing this ring announcing thing for ACW, so if I still suck at it, I really don't have much of an excuse.
After sitting through another show, I realize how difficult it is for me as a fan to put up with certain things from a ring announcer. Fortunately ACW and the other decent shows I have been to, don't do the live play by play thing. (I wouldn't do that even if ACW told me I had to.) But I am sure there are other things that can be annoying to the fans. What I am asking is an honest criticism of the things that I do in the ring that get on your nerves.
Please understand, I am in no way fishing for compliments here. If you think I am doing great, thanks, but I'm not looking for that. I want input on the things I can do, or stop doing, in order to improve the fan experience at an ACW show.
I cannot promise that I will change anything at all as a result of any suggestions, but I will promise to read them and consider them without holding a grudge or getting my feelings hurt.
Remember I am only looking for criticisms of my role as a ring announcer. Personal attacks that have nothing to do with ACW really aren't gonna be worthwhile, unless they are really funny.
"Well there you have it, absolutely, once again, I'm gonna tell you, what I'm talking about!'

i don't think you're bad at all, one thing that did happen in the past though was during the dalton v. dell match in austin a couple of months ago, there was a time limit, and apparently the match went the full time limit, but we weren't informed of said time limit before or during the match, only when it was met. and even though most acw scramble matches are elimination and we've gotten used to that, it's not always announced as such. that's all i can think of at the moment. i've never had any complaints other than that.

That my friend was an order from the office. all non-title matches in ACW come equip with a 20 minute time limit. so if that happens in the future you'll know why. ACW steals borrows a lot from the original ECW and that, along with no Countouts, very few DQs is one of the of the concepts we have implemented. The Masada vs. Chris Hero match also had the same "out of nowhere" time limit draw. Barry may announce the time limits, but we won't countdown the time unless it is a heavyweight title match. Scrambles are always elimination. when a match is One fall to a finish, such as the hardcore title match on 9-6 that is recognized and announced. so basically the things Barry does wrong is 100% my fault and will be noted and possibly fixed.

Like Milo said, I think Barry does a really good job. One thing I will mention and I'm not even sure if I consider it criticism or not, but after the match I understand to concept of saying "lets hear it again for ......" and aknowledge the talent and effort put forth in the match, but why is that encouraged for those villains after a match ? ; )
