Ring Of Honor owner Cary Silkin removed Gabe Sapolsky from the head booker's position with the company after last night's event in Edison, NJ. We were told that there wasn't any major blow up, but rather that the company is going in a different direction.
Sapolsky, who has been with ROH since its inception, is now gone from the company completely.

Didn't Pearce just get let go from ROH as a "cost-cutting measure"?
There's more to this story

Adam Pearce is the new booker, according to Pwinsider.com I am no a fan of his wrestling ability at all. I guess we will see how his booking skills are if true. ROH losing Gabe seems to be a big blow, as he seemed to be innovative and that is what set ROH apart from the rest. Time will tell I guess.

Pearce is supposedly taking it "back to a 70s feel" which has the faggy ROH forum rats in all sorts of bent titties. I don't think he will change the ringstyle, eventhough he is, to his credit, a fairly decent old time heel, but I think he is going to change the company's entire presentation and direction. I think by "70's style " he means a more simplistic style to the booking. More emphasis on fueds and angles and actually building title matches to mean more (even though face Necro going against heel Nigel is fucking awesome) and cut back on the overuse of factions. I know I've seen so many title matches take a backseat to "dream matches" and Briscoe tag matches and it seems Austin Aires fights the No Remorse corps 50 fucking times a show. Maybe after 6 1/2 years Gabe had ran his course and it's time to change direction.
To me I think 70's style means that the card will be more structured, the story lines will be simple, effective, easy to get behind storylines. More focus on the main event. Fewer "dream" matches, no more message board angles, stop schilling Shoot Interviews in the middle of matches, basically STOP BOOKING TO APPEASE THE MARKS. They are the fans that will go to shows regardless, thats why they read the forums, chant the chants and whatnot. With no growth and dipping DVD sales, its time to go to the tried and true formula in wrestling to catch an everday Joes eye, and then once you got their attention, you showcase your talents insane inring abilities and let them know how you are revolutionizing the sport. Thats modernizing the 70's style with today's style of indy wrestling.
