FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND (as to avoid libel)…the person I go through to book the Dove Springs Rec Center in Austin, TX was booking the ACW dates in a way that wasn’t “correct procedure” as far as the city officials are concerned and ACW never existed in the “books” of the rec center. So with that said I have a meeting on December 3rd with the person in charge of rec center bookings in Austin, TX to discuss ACW’s usage of The Dove Springs Recreation center for future events, including The December 13th date. So long story short, the paper work wasn’t correctly filed and ACW is going to suffer…and we are going to suffer at a not-so-awesome time to get f*cked. We (Mike Knoxville is an angel) have worked as hard as humanly possible to find a venue to host the 2008 Lone Star Classic on December 13th and we have found a suitable replacement Venue. It is very disappointing that people cannot live up to their end of an agreement. I truly believe that this was all cause of a mistake and in no way an act of malice. I also believe that moving this event to San Antonio will help the event (plus in 2 weeks time a new venue in Austin wasn’t going to happen). I know I’ve said it many times before, but please believe in ACW as ACW believes in its fans. The talent for December 13th hasn’t changed at all. All Tickets already purchased are transferable and we will offer refunds to anyone who would like a refund...
in even better news...
For you’re trouble we will also be hosting an event on December 14th 2008 at a discounted price as an apology for the inconvenience. More information will be released this weekend.

Looks like it has moved to Austin this year. I wont lie, I am a bit disappointed but like has been said before ACW was set out to have a huge place in Austin. Looks like yall are on your way. At least its on a Sautrday Austin is more central. we are going to advertise on Cable TV in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Waco & Houston. and it is much more convenient as far as travel for fans go overall. San Antonio has so much shit like CWF that we can't afford to be caught in the over saturated San Antonio scene for the biggest show of the year in the state. ACW Loves San Antonio and especially the fans, and we believe that we are worth the hour and a half drive. we gave you of our souls in 2007 and will do so in 2008 and I don't think a short drive is too much to ask of our ACW family. you k now the show will be well worth it. The LSC will be back in SA, we want to make it a LONE STAR classic, not just a San Antonio Classic.

I just don't understand why we drove every weekend, risk our lives, our financial security to give you guys everything & now because we are only running in san antonio every other month & we decide that we should showcase the awesomeness that is ACW in other cities that aren't that far away, that we have deserted our fans? That's not it at all. It would be nice to not have to spend the extra gas money & hotel money plus all the expenses of the shows & plane tickets to give you guys a hell of a fucking show! But it doesn't matter, people will think what they want to think & regardless of what we say people will be hurt by the decisions. And I'm sorry that you are. And I know its not all the fans that care about it & for those that are happy to see us whenever & supportive of ACW in general....thank you. It means the world.

While I personally feel a little bummed out at the lack of ACW in San Antonio, especially after being spoiled by month after month of great shows, I don't feel you guys deserted us at all. I'm glad you guys are branching out into other cities. And I'll make it a top priority to go the next show here, especially since it's much closer to me than the Venue was.

My only concern for this show is that the LSC will most likely have a large percent of Fly in talent and there just costs more to fly into Austin in general than to San Antonio. Driving 75 minutes to a show is nothing.

I completely understand by people being bummed out because we gave san antonio so much last year. But we are still going to give them a hell of a lot this year too! Don't worry!

Driving 75 minutes to a show is nothing. To be honest it has been quite the opposite. Flights have been cheaper into Austin. I always check both SA & Austin before i purchase a ticket. who know if that'll be the case in December but I can always fly talent into SA and have some of the ACW crew drive them the short drive to Austin.
