The rumors are starting to spread rapidly, so I will give you the real scoop…
On Sunday night, April 12th Rachel Summerlyn became violently ill and was rushed to a local hospital. It was determined that she had a stone blocking the duct of her gallbladder. Her surgeon performed emergency surgery to remove her gallbladder. She was released from the hospital a couple of hours ago and is resting comfortably at her home. Her participation in her scheduled upcoming events is still unknown. Thank you for all the support.

As Julio said, Surgery is always scary, but I am sure the doctors have reassured Rachel and Darin that the long term effects of this particular surgery are not terribly worrisome. Assuming recovery is underway, my question is... did the tattoos survive?

Assuming recovery is underway, my question is... did the tattoos survive? It wasn't a routine Gallbladder removal. her duct was completely blocked and bile was forced into her body by whatever means it could find which caused a pretty severe infection. she was basically like a faucet for 5 hours constantly throwing up said bile, which caused severe dehydration. It was very close to being fatal, a complete and total nightmare...but the worst is over.

Darin, Rachel, I hope you both know that I was in no way intending to diminish the seriousness of the situation. From the tone of the original message, I concluded the worse was passed and that recovery was under way. My response was intended to express my relief that the surgery was a success. If either of you, or any other reader of this thread feels my words were inappropriate, I deeply apologize. Barry
