Thats one of the main reasons i enjow ACW, it is the respect factor. I've been to Indy shows before where their merch table sold nothing but WWF Merchandise even though NO ONE on the show had worked for WWF (this was before the change to WWE) I have been to shows where WWF performers were advertised then when i got to the show it was other wrestlers dressed as them in TRIBUTE (Kane, Undertaker, Doink, Mankind) To me those 2 instances are tremendous levels of disrespect to the fans and to the wrestlers. Best merch table i have seen is the ACW one, best fan interaction i have seen is at ACW shows, best mingling of the wrestlers with the fans during intermission and after the event is at ACW shows and best overall wrestling i have seen is at ACW shows. ACW gives the fans and the wrestlers something to give a shit about and that is respect, honour and pride. If you can't be proud of the company you follow then how are you going to turn round and get your friends into them? I'd like to thank WWE, TNA, WCW and the smaller indies that have all ballsed up by not listening to the fans or looking to history and seeing what worked. ACW may not have a tv deal or a PPV deal but they have a great roster, a great show and are getting there with word of mouth. When ACW's Joshi Division can be spoken of in the same breath as SHIMMER then that says a lot. I say that about the Joshi division because you could have several SHIMMER wrestlers on your roster and still have a shitty show (Wrestlelicious anyone???) I still gotta give Heyman's merch table back in the day the edge here, for no other reason than that ECW had such insanely cool t-shirts. That's something I'd like to see from ACW - some cool ACW shirts for us fans to buy and wear.
Plus, if you were lucky(?) Sandman might even grab your wallet out of your hands and start passing stuff around out of it (no kidding - I saw him do that to a guy once). ;D
It was really cool that Becca came and found me at my seat at the last show to let me know that a DVD I'd asked about previously was available; that was SUPER cool. You wouldn't see that ECW.
But I'd like an ACW t-shirt.

r kACW has that ECW feel with the rock music, the chaotic brawls, the technical matches and the overall crowd interaction but it also has that old school feel of presenting matches the fans give a shit about. I like the spread out feel of feuds instead of a week to week series of shite that the televised companies have. Yes i know ACw goes month to month for shows but it really helps build excitement for the next show rather than having something happen the next week that doesnt feel as deep as having to wait for the following month. Why boil something immediately when you can simmer it for a while to get a better flavour?

Why boil something immediately when you can simmer it for a while to get a better flavour? One thing about early ECW was that the "regular" fans really enoyed seeing themselves on T.V. and in the videos, and became kind of cult personalities of their own. I think some of them even have entries in wikipedia.
So being a fan in ECW was more than being a fan of ECW, it was more like being a part of ECW. Like one of the first shows in Ft. Lauderdale, when Heyman and all the wrestlers came out on the stage after the show and Heyman gave a speech that went about 20-30 minutes all about how "we" were going to build ECW into a national contender (Florida being one of the first places they went outside their base).
ACW has that; it's cool to look for yourself on the DVD each month.
But I still want a t-shirt.

So that's TWO votes for Stephie.
And...once again...Mercedes Martinez against Rachel for the belt.

Loved the post about how much ACW respects its fans and talks to them and for the most part they give it back to the wrestlers.
I have to agree with the posts about having it be ACW women, I like the idea of 6 of the 8 being mainstays and 2 outsiders so that you see some new blood and let ACW women show off.
I too agree with R K again with Mercedes.

I know she broke her tibia at ROH this past week, but any chance Cassandro could be healthy enough and earn a spot in the tournament?

Cassandro has chosen to live to live her life as a female and is greatly respected by the ACW locker room hence why you will see a diverse group of people show there respect for that choice.
Orlando Jordan has made a choice as well but it is clearly not the same thing.
my personal feeling is that Cassandro is still one of the top luchadors in the world despite her choice, if Orlando Jordan was not "the bi wrestler" i think peoples interest would fall off quite quickly
all this is neither here nor there really, if you look deeply there is a much deeper meaning to the American Joshi and a much more powerful message being sent then any thing that has to do with sexual orientation

I have known Cassandro for a long time and have a ton of respect for her. as a TRUE Exotico she DOES qualify for the Joshi division. She is considered every year for the American Joshi Queen of Queens Tournament, although it has yet to become a reality.

When we refer to Cassandro as "Her" or "She" we are showing our respect to Cassandro's wishes. If someone were to refer to Jordan using those pronouns, it would be intended as an insult.

just to be clear im not referring to either persons sexual preference as a choice but how they present it in the context of wrestling.

Scot Summers actually lost the ACW Heavyweight Championship on OCtober 12th, 2008 to Jimmy Jacobs in a 3-way Dance that included JT Lamotta who cashed in his Championship match from winning the 2007 Lone Star Classic. JT Lamotta Pinned Scot Summers as it came down to JT and his mortal enemy Jimmy Jacobs who was eventually victorious. The DVD of this event (Evolution of The Revolution 2008) will be available on April 18th. but yes, One on One for the first time.

They were reluctant opponents in the Dream Partner match too, although that's not the same as a one-on-one at #1 contender/championship level.
Can't wait for this match, and to see what it means for what Summers is currently going through; I'll be cheering him on big time here, because LaMotta's one of my favorite guys to be against.
Who knew that Dream Partner match would be so instrumental in so much going on this year?
