A great two matches added. Wonder what r k thinks of Darin teaming with the Takeover. I don't like it.
And I would've preferred Evans in that match as a full Takeover team, with Darin on the other side and Jessica versus ACH.
That's just me and it's not a big deal, but I sure hope this isn't Darin joining the Takeover. That would be the worst move of all worst moves. Dell's the boss of that faction, and there's no room for Darin in it.
It has the appearance to me of Darin trying to surround himself with various people to deflect the wrath of Showtime. Don't do it, Dell.

And as a fan of the Takeover...I welcome that.

This is a One Night Tournament so it is even better!! no offense to anyone, but this tournament is the most condensed & stacked tournament in women's wrestling. the 2009 Queen of Queens tournament is the standard women's wrestling tournaments should be judged. this year's tournament is more stacked & has more intense rivalries than last year, not to mention the insanely packed non-tournament card. all 8 women are passionate & ready for this event, as is ACW.

This IS big show. Between this and June 13 I'm planning my whole vacation around ACW this year.
On this show so far, I'm cheering for Daffney in the first round, and in the non-tournament matches I'm picking:
Robert Evans (but he better not hurt Jessica). Showtime. And MIKE DELL'S team.
Still pulling for Nicole winning the tournament though, on a whisful-thinking long shot. After Nicole I like Daizee, and then Daffney.

Not for nothing, but I can see that Showtime/La Motta match being very interesting here.
Because San Antonio seems to be home to very vocal fans of both Showtime AND La Motta (more so than Austin).
Pretty incisive booking, that one. Crowd's gonna be interesting.

r k JT Lamotta is San Antonio's chosen son. he is loved there, and Scot Summers is loved pretty much everywhere. it'll be intense. an ACW dream match. JT Lamotta actually pinned & eliminated Heavyweight Champion Scot Summers on October 12th, 2008 in a 3-way dance also involving lamotta's lifelong enemy Jimmy Jacobs after cashing in his title shot earned by winning the 2007 Lone Star Classic. Jimmy went on to last eliminate Lamotta to become champion on that night. This match has history & both competitors are on top of their game. two former ACW Heavyweight Champions slugging it out on the most viewed show of the year. it'll be a war.

In Austin the crowd's been a little more mixed with Showtime. Yes, they love him, but they can boo on him too.
This match in San Antonio's going to have very intense audience dynamics I can see.

It sure would be cool if Nicole Matthews makes her first really big move in singles wrestling by winning this.
Yeaaaah...I'm pulling big time for Nicole. ;D

I just read Athena defeated Rachel for the Joshi Championship. Well, a HUGE congratulations to Athena, the only Submission Squad person I like.
Hopefully this will cause lots of animosity with Vega, so she can dump that whole group and move on to a REAL championship clique - The Takeover. ;D

Athena did in fact defeat Rachel Summerlyn & Lillie Mae in a triple threat match by pinning Rachel Summerlyn following a springboard double knee strike. more info coming soon including details of Athena's first defense.

r kdude, a very talented female athlete just won the most prestiges prize at the indy level that a woman can win and you turn it into a statement involving the takeover. I'm happy that you support ACW like the rest of us, but if the Takeover is the only thing you care to delve on during your posts, then the rest of those great performers must be busting their asses and developing entertaining stories for nothing.

This now means the Queen of Queens is even more intriguing. I saw Athena as the underdog going in yet she may possibly walk in as the current ACW Joshi Champion. This is going to be awesome

r kMassive congratulations to Athena for a very impressive Victory. And now the Submission Squad has the following belts Tag Team Titles Anarchy Televised Title Joshi Title The Takeover has U-30 Title Your statement about Takeover being a Championship Clique is not too accurate. All we need is for Vega to win the U-30 and EVERY member of ther Squad will be a Champion.

But Vega is not interested in the U-30 title.

But Vega is not interested in the U-30 title. This DEFINATELY sets up Vega vs. Athena. Personally I was waiting to see Vega vs. Summerlyn. In my opinion she was even better than she usually is when she faced Robert Evans, which was by far the best inter-gender match I've seen anywhere. Its like Rachels too tough for some of these girls.

This really makes things interesting as Vega has been wanting a Joshi Title match since just before the Lone Star Classic. That's 8 months of Vega trying to get a Title Shot. Now Athena gets brought in and ends up winning the Title before Vega gets a match for it. The Squad brought her in to train Vega for the Joshi Division and has won the belt instead. I don't think Vega is going to be happy about this turn of events. And i wonder how this will affect the rest of the Squad? Either way it is one more belt in the Submission Squad's possession.
