Well, a HUGE congratulations to Athena, the only Submission Squad person I like.
Hopefully this will cause lots of animosity with Vega, so she can dump that whole group and move on to a REAL championship clique - The Takeover. ;D
r k dude, a very talented female athlete just won the most prestiges prize at the indy level that a woman can win and you turn it into a statement involving the takeover. I'm happy that you support ACW like the rest of us, but if the Takeover is the only thing you care to delve on during your posts, then the rest of those great performers must be busting their asses and developing entertaining stories for nothing. Buddy - Relax; it's wrestling. There's nothing wrong with a fan liking a faction over another, and I began by congratulating Athena off the bat.
And I've cheered Athena at every show I've seen her at, and plan to continue doing so.
That being said, I think she'd be a great member of the Smurf team also.
...as long as it's not the Submission Squad. ;D
And if you've read many of the posts I've made, especially following the shows, I'm sure you'll concur that I've spoken highly of MANY stories being created. Lady Poison, Jr. Garza, Khris Wolfe, and I posted high praise for the storytelling of the Masada-Jacobs match, even though others were being critical in a way that I considered highly unwarranted.
But hey, it's their right as fans and I respect their opinion, just as I appreciate mine being respected as well - or at least tolerated. Try not to take it so seriously. It's wrestling, enjoy it. ;D

r k Massive congratulations to Athena for a very impressive Victory. And now the Submission Squad has the following belts Tag Team Titles Anarchy Televised Title Joshi Title The Takeover has U-30 Title Your statement about Takeover being a Championship Clique is not too accurate. All we need is for Vega to win the U-30 and EVERY member of ther Squad will be a Champion. That's true and logical, but being a fan doesn't always entail logic; it often commands a high degree of optimism as well.
So if my favorites aren't champions right now, it's because they've just taken a breather to regroup. It will change again soon enough.
The Submission Squad won't dominate ACW forever.
And the Smurfs are rapidly gaining favor with me; I plan on buying one of their shirts at the next show.

But Vega is not interested in the U-30 title. This DEFINATELY sets up Vega vs. Athena. Personally I was waiting to see Vega vs. Summerlyn. In my opinion she was even better than she usually is when she faced Robert Evans, which was by far the best inter-gender match I've seen anywhere. Its like Rachels too tough for some of these girls. She's not too tough for Lady Poison.
No one is.

I have NEVER seen an intergender match on that level...anywhere.

Massive congratulations to Athena for a very impressive Victory. And now the Submission Squad has the following belts Tag Team Titles Anarchy Televised Title Joshi Title The Takeover has U-30 Title I don't think Evans is gonna make it past Plisken with that belt, remember Lone Star Classic. I believe Super Electro will affect the outcome of that match and Plisken will go down.

I predict - Plisken loses. I don't think Evans will be derailed by him.
Evans is way more badass than he comes across at first glance anyway; he's been proving that big time lately.

r kEvans is definately becoming an almost Christian Cage-like badass/goofball character. But in wrestling when you try to cheat to win, you always leave yourself vulnerable in some way. If Evans counts on Electro to be the deciding factor he will be discounting himself. Huge mistake against a Monster with a pretty boy watching his back. Centerfolds gonna shut down the robot.

I call Palmer a wild card because I'm not completely convinced Plisken has his loyalty, especially against Evans.
The team of Plisken and Palmer to me looked to be much more of something Plisken wanted, with Palmer seeing it as a chance to get back at Dell.
Would Palmer back Plisken against Mike Dell? Absolutely. Against Evans?
I'm not so sure.
Not only is Robert Evans showing considerable badassness lately, but he's also showing that he's extremely intelligent when it comes to strategy and manipulation. Of all the wrestlers in ACW he's the one I feel is the most "in control" of his matches.

r kI too am a HUGE fan of Mike Dell and Spiro but i was trying topoint out that the Submission Squad RIGHT NOW are THE team or stable to beat or be in in ACW. The Takeover was last year's BIG Stable but with the fracturing of the group it has led them away from title dominance. You may like it or may not like it but the Squad are THE team right now in ACW. I would love to see the Takeover and the Squad wage war as the Squad are easily taking care of the Smurfs right now. I don't think the Smurf's are a bad faction but the numbers aren't there and with Breeze leaving for surgery the faction is reduced to a Tag team against a 5 person Stable. Now with Athena being Joshi Champ possibly walking into Queen of Queens we are really getting to see who i considered the Underdog going in now being possibly considered one of the top seeds. The entire dynamic of the Tournament just got thrown out as Athena walks in now not just looking to win but also looking to retain the title. Rachel is looking to win it back and also win. So ultimately the winner of the Tournament not only wins the Trophy but also walks out as Joshi Champ and cements her status as one of the, if not THE Best Woman in the Independents right now.

If she wins you were the one who put it out there.
Agreed on the Smurfs lacking numbers, but I'm pulling for them anyway, as I tend to put heart ahead of logic in who I cheer for.
I like the underdog, and the one no one else recognizes. That's why I'm staying hopeful for Nicole in the Queen Of Queens. The thing to consider with this tournament this year is not just the titles but the prestige. With this level of competition, AND all that's on the line, whoever wins is going to be on the map in a big way. This is going to be a huge career boost to the winner.
Go Nicole!

It'll be cool to see the entire Submission Squad on one team, only the second time I've seen that. We will see if there is tension towards Vega for costing them the Flag Match.

This is going to a GREAT show. From the Tourny on down. I hope Poison does the same thing she did in May, which was to be the last one standing in a ring full of victims.
That's right, I hope Poison makes victims of EVERYONE! Including the Dynasty.
That's what makes Poison great.

And I'm glad to see the Smurfs have a match on the card. My first exposure to ACW was at last year's Queen Of Queens and the Smurfs was the first ACW match I saw.
And even though I've given them some crap on the forums, they were the first ones that impressed me about ACW.

Since it is an internet exclusive match, if Gary Jay gets pinned or submits I think he should lose his Internet Televised title.

And this is an internet exclusive match, and that belt is to be defended in internet exclusive matches, therefore I maintain that belt should be on the line on the 27th.

Whatever goes down between Spiro & Dell at this show it's not gonna be peaceful. I'm feeling that there's no way Dell will step back willfully, nor do I think he'll step down from the Takeover just because Spiro wants him to.
As a fan of the team I'm not completely sure who I'm going to support, as I can get behind every member of the Takeover currently. One thing really bothers me about Spiro though...
He was the one who, when Evans & Palmer joined, made the statement: "What the champ wants, the champ gets". Spiro himself has failed to live up to that several times, starting with the mystery partner match, when Dell picked Showtime.
Dell may not be the "bad guy" in this. Doesn't mean I'll necesssarily back him against the group, though (and it doesn't necessarily mean I won't either).
We'll see...
